Your contract with Twikz
These terms explain what you are buying, what Twikz will provide and what each party is responsible for.
Please read these terms before placing an order. The relevant service page, the information shown at checkout and your order confirmation also form part of the agreement where they describe the service, price, turnaround, inclusions or other order-specific terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Who can purchase
Twikz services are intended for customers aged 18 or over.
By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 and have authority to enter into the contract and provide the material submitted for editing.
If you buy mainly for personal purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession, you may be a consumer and have additional statutory rights. If you buy wholly or mainly for business purposes, some consumer protections will not apply in the same way.
Choosing a service
You should know the service you are buying before you pay.
The website describes the current Twikz services, their inclusions, boundaries, pricing route and expected deliverables. You are responsible for selecting the service that matches the document and intended use.
Twikz currently provides four core service routes:
- Dissertation & Thesis Editing;
- Research Paper & Journal Manuscript Editing;
- Executive CV / Résumé & Applications; and
- Professional Document Editing.
The Service Boundaries page explains work that is outside the Twikz service model or may require specialist limits.
Placing an order and contract formation
Payment is made before the document-specific review requirements are recorded.
When you complete checkout, you are offering to purchase the selected service on the terms presented to you. Unless the checkout states otherwise, the contract is formed when Twikz sends an order confirmation accepting the order.
Twikz will provide an order confirmation and the relevant contractual information by email or another format that you can save for your records.
After purchase, you provide the document and the document-specific information needed to apply the purchased service, such as its destination, relevant requirements, priorities and supporting material.
Post-purchase requirements do not create a new bespoke service. They determine how the service already purchased is applied to your document. Work outside that service requires your approval and, where applicable, a separate purchase.
Prices and payment
The price or pricing method is shown before checkout.
Dissertation and thesis, journal manuscript and professional document editing may use a per-word estimate or other published pricing method shown on the relevant service route. Executive CV / Résumé & Applications is a fixed-price service unless the service page states otherwise.
You must provide accurate information used to calculate the order, including word count where relevant. The checkout shows the amount payable before you place the order.
No additional charge will be imposed for additional or different work without your approval.
Any applicable taxes or other mandatory charges will be shown as required before payment.
Providing your document and requirements
You must provide the material reasonably needed to perform the service.
After purchase, you must provide the document, accessible files and any requirements reasonably needed for the selected service. This may include institutional guidance, journal instructions, a role description, organisational requirements or other destination-specific material.
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- the files are complete, accessible and suitable for editing;
- information used to purchase the service is materially accurate;
- you have the right to provide the document and any personal or confidential information it contains; and
- the underlying research, evidence, achievements, figures, professional claims and other substantive information supplied by you are accurate and legitimate.
When work begins and turnaround
The delivery period depends on the order being ready for substantive work.
The selected turnaround is subject to Twikz receiving the required files and document-specific information in a usable form. If required material is missing or inaccessible, the timetable may be paused until the issue is resolved.
Any confirmed delivery date or turnaround shown in the order confirmation applies subject to delays caused by missing files, late required information, customer revisions or other matters outside Twikz’s reasonable control.
If Twikz causes a material delay, your rights are governed by these terms, the Correction & Refund Policy and applicable law.
The editing service
Twikz performs the service with reasonable care and skill.
The precise editorial activities depend on the service purchased. They may include language refinement, structural intervention, source-linked analysis, internal-consistency checks, reader or destination alignment, comments, queries and completion checks where those activities form part of the service.
Service descriptions and other information about the service provided before purchase form part of the contract where the law provides that they are binding.
Twikz may make reasonable editorial choices within the purchased service, but material decisions that require your academic, professional or organisational authority are returned to you rather than silently decided on your behalf.
Editorial and professional boundaries
Editing does not replace authorship or specialist validation.
Twikz does not invent research, evidence, findings, citations, achievements, interpretations, corporate figures or decisions that should come from you or another authorised source.
Unless expressly included in the selected service, editorial review is not scientific validation, statistical verification, legal advice, financial audit, medical review, engineering assurance or another form of specialist professional certification.
The full operating boundaries are set out on the Service Boundaries page.
Academic and professional integrity
You remain responsible for complying with the rules governing your document.
You must not use Twikz to obtain prohibited academic authorship, model answers, fabricated research or evidence, invented career achievements, unlawful professional claims or assistance intended to misrepresent AI-generated material as independently human-authored.
Where academic, journal, employer, professional or organisational rules restrict editing, you are responsible for confirming that the purchased service is permitted. Twikz may also restrict or decline work where the requested intervention would breach an applicable rule or the Twikz service boundary.
Material mismatch, missing information and additional work
Twikz may pause an order if the submitted material does not match what was purchased.
If the document, word count, destination, file format or required work materially differs from the information used to purchase the service, Twikz may pause substantive work and explain the issue.
Where the document can be handled through another service or additional work, you may be offered that option at the applicable price. You are not required to accept it.
If the purchased service cannot reasonably be delivered to the material supplied, Twikz may cancel the unperformed part of the service and provide any refund due under the Correction & Refund Policy and applicable law.
Delivery and customer review
Deliverables are provided through the delivery route stated for the service or order.
The files and completion records included depend on the service purchased. They may include a tracked working document, clean copy, visible comments or queries and a service-specific Completion Brief or other completion record.
Please review the delivery promptly. The Correction & Refund Policy gives the preferred reporting periods and explains how objective service problems are assessed.
Corrections, repeat performance and refunds
Service problems are handled under the Correction & Refund Policy and applicable law.
Where an objective service problem can appropriately be corrected, correction or repeat performance will normally be the first remedy. For a consumer service that does not conform to the contract, statutory remedies may include repeat performance and, in the circumstances provided by law, an appropriate price reduction or refund.
Nothing in these terms removes a consumer’s statutory right to a service performed with reasonable care and skill or any other right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Consumer cancellation rights
Qualifying UK consumer orders placed online normally carry a 14-day cancellation period.
If you are a qualifying UK consumer purchasing online, the cancellation period normally ends 14 days after the day on which the contract is entered into.
If you want Twikz to begin the service during that cancellation period, you must expressly request an early start.
If you request an early start and then cancel before the service is complete, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to the point of cancellation.
If the service is fully performed during the cancellation period after you have expressly requested an early start and acknowledged that your cancellation right will be lost once the service has been fully performed, the statutory cancellation right ends when full performance is complete.
To exercise a cancellation right, you must tell Twikz clearly that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period expires. The Correction & Refund Policy explains how to do this and provides the relevant cancellation information.
Business customers do not have the same statutory cooling-off rights as consumers.
Ownership and permitted use
Your original document remains yours.
Twikz does not claim ownership of the customer-authored material you submit. You grant Twikz a limited right to access, copy and process that material only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, administer and support the service, subject to the Confidentiality & AI page and Privacy Policy.
Subject to payment and any third-party rights in the underlying material, you may use the edited document and customer-facing deliverables for the purpose for which they were supplied.
Twikz retains ownership of its pre-existing methods, frameworks, templates, internal analytical materials, working processes, brand assets and other intellectual property that is not created specifically as part of your customer-authored document.
Website and Twikz intellectual property. Unless otherwise stated, the text, service descriptions, graphics, images, illustrations, visual assets, page content, brand elements, templates, frameworks and other original material published by Twikz are owned by or licensed to Twikz and are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.
You may view and use the website for your own lawful purpose in considering or purchasing a Twikz service. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, commercially exploit, adapt or use Twikz content or brand assets to create a competing or substantially similar service without permission, except where such use is permitted by law.
Confidentiality, AI and privacy
Document handling is governed by the published confidentiality and privacy controls.
Twikz limits access to customer documents to authorised people and service providers who need the information to deliver or support the order.
Customer documents are not submitted to a generative-AI service without explicit permission for the stated purpose and for the use of the information and processor identified when that permission is requested.
No guarantee of external outcomes
Twikz improves the document; it does not control the next decision.
Twikz does not guarantee publication, a particular grade, examination or viva success, an interview, employment, promotion, funding, approval, acceptance or another outcome controlled by a university, journal, employer, client, regulator or other third party.
An external rejection or adverse decision does not by itself establish that the editing service was defective.
Responsibility and liability
These terms do not remove liability that the law says cannot be removed.
Twikz is responsible for performing the purchased service with the standard required by applicable law and for loss that is a foreseeable result of Twikz breaching the contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
Twikz is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate, unlawful or incomplete material supplied by you; changes you make after delivery; use of the document for a materially different destination; or a third-party decision that Twikz does not control, except to the extent that the loss was caused by Twikz’s own breach or negligence.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory rights that cannot be excluded, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Business customers may require separate liability wording. If Twikz intends to use these same terms for substantial B2B engagements, the business-customer liability position should be reviewed separately before publication.
Events outside reasonable control
Some delays may arise from events Twikz cannot reasonably prevent.
Twikz is not responsible for delay caused solely by events outside its reasonable control, such as significant infrastructure failure, provider outage, serious illness, natural disaster or other comparable disruption.
If such an event materially affects the order, Twikz will take reasonable steps to reduce the disruption and communicate an appropriate next step. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Refusing, pausing or ending a service
Twikz may stop work where continuing would be unlawful, unsafe or outside the purchased service.
Twikz may refuse, pause or end work for reasons described in the Service Boundaries page, including prohibited use, serious subject mismatch, unacceptable confidentiality or professional risk, materially incomplete information or lack of appropriate reviewer capacity.
Where the issue arises after purchase, Twikz will explain the reason and any reasonable route to continue. Amounts paid for work that will not be supplied will be handled under the Correction & Refund Policy and applicable law.
Complaints and contact
Raise order problems through the order-support route.
If you believe the service has not been delivered as purchased, use the order-support contact supplied with your purchase and provide the order reference and enough information for the delivery to be reviewed.
General contractual questions can be submitted through the Twikz Contact Us form. Privacy questions and data-protection requests should be made using the contact route described in the Privacy Policy.
General terms
These provisions explain how the agreement operates.
Entire agreement. The contract consists of these terms together with the applicable service information, checkout information, order confirmation and any document-specific requirements recorded for the purchased service. This does not exclude liability for fraud and does not remove consumer rights attaching to information given before purchase.
Changes. Twikz may update website terms for future orders. The terms applying to an existing order are those incorporated into that contract when it was made, except where a change is required by law or expressly agreed with you.
Transfer. You may not transfer your order to another person without Twikz’s agreement where the identity, document or service requirements would materially change. Twikz will not transfer its contractual obligations in a way that reduces a consumer’s rights without the protections required by law.
Severability. If a term is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply so far as legally possible.
No waiver. A delay in enforcing a contractual right does not necessarily mean that right has been waived.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by English law.
If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory legal protections that apply because of where you live and may bring proceedings in any court available to you under applicable consumer law.
If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute arising from these terms or a Twikz order.
